Help John Stay Home During Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
My father, John Brown, is a retired NY Port Authority Police officer and was working security at Ground Zero during the 9/11 attacks. Recently, John was diagnosed with a glioblastoma. The initial surgery was successful, but the glioblastoma has returned with a prognosis of less than two years.

John had our family home built with my late mother in 2003 where he has lived for the past 22 years. In this house he spent time with his wife, his two children, and five grandchildren. Recently, there was an issue with the boiler and the steam that was trapped in the house quickly turned to mold, leaving the bedroom and only full bathroom inaccessible due to the mold. Insurance is refusing to process the claim. He is currently sleeping on a roll away bed in the living room while undergoing treatment at Sloan-Kettering and needs to shower at a neighbors house.

John is awaiting acceptance into a trial and if accepted will not be allowed to return to his home in its current condition. We are raising money for mold remediation so that John can spend his recovery remaining time in the home he built and shared with his late wife.
