A near fatal car wreck took place Saturday, February 26, 2022, in Olivehurst, CA, in a head-on collision. A group of intoxicated teenagers in a stolen vehicle crashed head-on into both my mother and father John & Sally Duron Escamilla and fled the scene. The car was mangled, and they suffered tremendously. The crash and screams for help heard by neighbors who called 911 as they stayed trapped in the wreckage. Both were taken to a nearby hospital and admitted for several injuries each! So far, we know,
John has a broken elbow, separated sternum, fractured ribs, and injuries to his mouth. John had surgery yesterday, and we will see what the rest of the medical team will decide he needs next.
Sally has broken knee, broken colar bone , broken fingers, and fractured ribs. Doctors plan to perform her surgery today. They are both heavily sedated with medication to help with the unimaginable pain and stress they are in.
It's heartbreaking to know such good people going through such a terrible, painful situation. Those who know John and Sally can say whole heartily they are the most generous take their shirt off their backs, feed everyone, type of people. The list of wonderful things they do for others is endless. They are raising four of their grandchildren on a fixed income, so if there is any time in their lives they need help, it is now!
To make the situation worse, they were in the middle of packing up their 3 bedroom home because the landlord decided to sell after living their for over 12 years. Now, forced to leave their home without a vehicle, during COVID, it is more than a single person who can handlewithought their injuries. Resources are very little, and they need to be healed as comfortable as possible in a home of their own. Please donate whatever you can do. Every dollar counts and will not go unappreciated or unnoticed. They both have a long road to recover, and it certainly will not be easy in their 60's. All funds raised will go to John and Sally for what they need. Please share! and more importantly, keep them in your prayers.
Thank you!
