Our Daddy is tough (like super tough), but currently is sick and needs us to rally around him like never before. Will you join us?
A few months ago our dad (John Ross) hurt his back. He is no stranger to back pain, but this time was different. A 10 out of 10 pain, as he described, which isn’t like our dad to talk about pain. His back wasn’t getting better, so his doctor started running scans and tests. Unfortunately those tests revealed breaks in his upper back, crushed discs in his lower back and spots in his bone marrow.
This ultimately lead to a cancer diagnosis last week.
Here is what we know so far. Daddy has Multiple Myeloma cancer. It’s a rare cancer that lives in the bone marrow and attacks the bloodstream and bones. We’re still waiting on more tests to show how far the cancer has spread.
His chemo treatment starts today.
We’ve already begun to assemble a team to fight this. He has a great cancer doctor here in Nashville and we’re also working with a holistic doctor who will be partnering with the medical team to help boost his immune system and heal his body.
This is where you come in.
Daddy does have insurance through his work, but he will pretty quickly hit his maximum out of pocket deductible (both for this year, and start over again for next year). All of the holistic treatments will be out of pocket, and are very expensive.
Will you please help us join together to support our Dad and step mom Jo financially?
Daddy and Jo are normally pretty private people who don’t naturally ask for help. They also are some of the most generous people you’ll ever meet. They are the first to help others, and the first to open their home to someone who needs a place to stay. Many a musician and friend of ours know what it’s like to wake up and share a cup of coffee with our dad.
We believe that Daddy will be back on his Harley in no time, and that his grandkids will be able to play with their Papa for many years to come. We don’t feel like God is done with him here on earth. We are standing together as a family to fight this awful disease.
Daddy has supported us our whole lives. He worked hard so that 3 little girls could pursue their dream of making music. We have felt loved by him every moment of our lives.
It’s our time to support him.
We hope you will stand with us.

(Also Jeremy, Micah, Lily and our entire family)
