My name is John Romero, and I'm sharing this during the hardest time of my life.

Not long ago, I was in a devastating head-on collision with an impaired driver. I was going 55 mph when it happened. The impact was so violent that I blacked out instantly. When I woke up, I was in the hospital, unable to move, in more pain than I've ever felt.

I had fractured ribs, a fractured spine, and a broken ribs and kneecap that required metal plates and screws. I spent five days in the hospital and now face months of physical therapy and hospital visits just to relearn how to walk and take care of myself again.

The driver had no insurance. I only had liability coverage and no health insurance. Now I'm left with overwhelming medical bills, and a long road of recovery ahead.

I've always been the one to take care of my wife and daughter. I'm also someone who loves to be out in the world - whether it's going to theme parks, going on cruises, or just making memories with my family. Now, I'm stuck in bed, unable to stand properly on my own.

As hard as it is to ask, I'm reaching out for help. Any donation - no matter how small- will go directly to my recovery, therapy, and helping my family survive while I heal.
