UPDATE: Thanks to this awesome community we reached our initial goal of $5000. I have raised to see if we can keep it coming. John is very weak right now and getting set for another procedure this Friday. I think the bigger the cushion we can help him with the better. I promise I'll kick his ass if he spends it on records. Seriously this is for living expenses as anyone here who has ever freelanced knows - savings is minimal at best. It is a hand-to-mouth existence. 

Hey all friends & colleagues of John

 

I'm putting this fundraiser together to help John pay some bills while he recovers from a massive heart attack. Anyone who knows Taggart knows that he will HATE that I'm doing this, but also that he is no trust funder and is going to have a tough time managing the anxiety of having bills to pay and no money coming in. And let's be honest here - journalism is not a money maker to begin with. So let's help him cover a couple months worth so he can breathe a little easier and concentrate on his recovery. I know once he's back on his feet he has some big plans to expand his involvement in the NYC STREET PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTIVE (https://www.nyc-spc.com/) and to begin teaching workshops.

 

We all know times are weird AF right now and a lot of people are struggling. So if you can't pitch in just send him some loving words and encouragement. But if you got it to give, please do.
