Hello everyone, my name is Charlie. I am writing this on behalf of my boyfriend’s family to share John’s story and ask for your help.
John was just one year old when the Beirut port explosion changed his life, and his family’s lives, forever. Before that day, he was a happy, healthy child, meeting every milestone with a smile.
During the blast, John experienced a severe shock, and his mother was seriously injured. The physical and emotional toll on the family was immediate, but for John, the struggle was only beginning. From that moment on, everything shifted. He stopped developing like other children, and what followed was a long, painful journey of misdiagnosis. For over a year, he was placed on medication that we now know was inappropriate for his condition, further hindering his progress.
Now nearly five years old, John finally has a clear path forward, but he needs us to get there. His family is doing everything they can, but the road has been incredibly difficult. With his mother still recovering from the impact of her injuries and the family surviving on a single income amidst the ongoing crisis in Lebanon, they simply cannot carry this financial weight alone.
We are trying to raise £6232 to provide John with the specialized care he urgently needs:
- Diagnostic Tests: A brain MRI (under anesthesia) and comprehensive blood work to finalize his diagnosis.
- Essential Therapies: Consistent Speech, Psychomotor, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy.
- Specialised Education: Covering fees for his enrollment at the Garden Genius Association, where he can get the specific support he requires.
I have seen firsthand how much this family has endured and how hard they are fighting for John's future. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward his medical care and education, giving him a real chance to recover and find his voice again.
How you can help:
1) Donate
2) Share: If you can’t donate, please share this post. It might reach the one person who can make the difference.
Thank you for standing with us and for giving John the chance he deserves.
— Charlie
