Hello all
Need some help....Everything I did as The Moose outside of Amerks games was done for the community for free. I loved every second of giving the character to Rochester and the bond give & take we had together. The Hockey community "owned" The Moose, and I was the actor making it work throughout countless appearances for charities all over the country and our Rochester.
I need help to take care of an unexpected financial emergency for out of pocket medical bills and related expenses.
I cut the bottom of my big toe on my right foot quite severely on a sliding glass door. It became a serious Bone Infection that required major surgery to save the toes and subsequent rehab for my foot.
So far it does look like the toe saved; it is a long slow heal as you use your toe doe so much walking driving balance etc
During the recovery some 6+ weeks after the bone infection surgery. I had a second related episode that was severe and required a hospitalization for 4 days.
The Bone Infection caused me to develop diabetes. This created some complications during healing and one of the results of which was a much much more serious episode medically and I was back in the hospital within 2 months of the original procedure.
As you can see from the pictures it has not been pleasant.
So I can use some help to mitigate the out of pocket expenses we would all face. I have carefully looked at the current and HOPEFULLY only time I need the assistance for my medical and out of pocket expenses.
I will be unable to work and have exhausted all benefits/monies available through traditional means. It is my goal to get healthy and return to work. This may be as its said in hockey a "career ending injury" which is a different conversation.
Healing is progressing well on the foot; the other aspects of the impact of the medical episode that I had during healing is a work in progress and costly.
