For years, I've been battling severe back and neck issues that have turned my life upside down. What started as chronic pain from an injury escalated into a series of surgeries—I've undergone multiple procedures on my spine, including fusions and disc replacements, to try and regain some mobility and relief. Each surgery came with its own set of challenges: long recovery times, physical therapy, and mounting bills that I simply couldn't keep up with on my limited disability income.

Right now, I'm on disability benefits, which provide a small monthly check, but it's barely enough to cover basics like rent, food, and utilities—especially after a recent cost-of-living adjustment reduced my SNAP benefits. To make matters tougher, my girlfriend lives with me and is currently without income as she appeals a denied disability claim from Social Security. That means all the household bills, including my medical costs, fall squarely on my shoulders. I’m also carrying credit card debt from trying to bridge the gaps. I'm drowning in this financial stress, and despite reaching out to local resources, I still need help to get back on my feet. I am currently waiting on a insurance decision for my next back surgery.
