Help John Recover & Embrace His Legacy

Greetings!

For many years, I have been making a pilgrimage to Africa in order to provide better lives for those less fortunate, because I can.  But I can't do it alone. First, let me tell you why it is so important to me.

I have done mission work in Africa half a dozen times already, and this serves me in another way now, as I'm also in search of natural remedies to recover from skin and kidney cancer in an environment free of toxicity and stress. The climate and natural foods are really helping me get better already.  I also feel the stress melting away - working with these kids - it's just what I need right now.

Children are our most precious gifts, and in third world countries, they struggle to survive in many areas. Many have no parents due to violence or abandonment, and are often left to fend for themselves or adopted by the village. Many more don't survive due to a lack of food, water and health care. You know about UNICEF, CARE and other similar campaigns but then perhaps wondered if your complete donation gets where it is most needed, so what I do is get in there and personally support and care for these children (they call me Uncle John now) and make a difference myself.  It is challenging, but also incredibly rewarding.

I am currently helping to support 4 children, all from different families living together.

The youngest, Ester, is 5 and she lost both of her parents.  Being loved and cared for with this single woman that is a parent of one and, with help from her African family, is a mother to all 4.   This is the family with whom I am staying to mentor the kids and help in any way that I can to give them a better life.

I’m growing a massive vegetable garden to help feed the people I’m staying with as well as providing for the families of children in need at the local schools.  Any remaining vegetable yield will also serve to complement another initiative.  I will be going to the school to meet with the principle in the next week to identify kids who would be in the most need for meal planning for their school lunches.

I'm also working with a local farmer to lease some acreage on which to raise livestock to continue financing this mission, while providing sustenance for the local people.  I have already purchased chickens and will be raising them on six-week cycles to yield chicken & vegetable meals for families of children in need at the local schools.  I will be building the business incrementally, expanding to supply others.  Then, my plan is to start my own small chicken farm and running a restaurant to build up to help more kids in schools.  To get to the big picture of building and running a school that is free for the most in need ...helping kids which ends up helping parents with no cost to them.  This helps families grow.

Eventually, my full legacy would be to open up Uncle Johns Chicken hut with delicious meals marketing to the friends of families I help at the local schools.  Once I have one location, I have a vision of spinning off more.

What I create in Africa stays there to be able to build up a sustainable foundation to do ongoing help in communities and children and their schools.

The focus of this GoFundMe is intended to support me upon my return to Ontario at the end of June of this year.

I went through a tough separation recently and I need to arrange for lodging in Ontario (first & last months’ rent).  I also need a working car to get me to and from work and medical appointments.  I have also retained a lawyer for fair splitting of assets from my separation.

I use my own funds to finance these trips, with the support of an organization which is covering the bulk of my airfare and lodging expenses but I can do MUCH more if I have financial backing to help me back on my feet upon my return to Ontario.  Through the support and guidance of the men of Mentor Discover Inspire (MDI) and TITANS, I have started challenging myself, finding inner strength and am now expanding my goals.

It would mean the world to me, and so many deserving children if you would contribute to this journey of hope, abundance and love.

I will post regular updates of the progress here or by email so you can see your funds in action - what could be more rewarding than seeing the impact that YOU have, half way around the world?

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you very much for your support.

Bless you!

John
