On September 22nd, tragedy struck when John—a devoted husband and father of five—was involved in a violent head-on collision. The crash left him with life-altering injuries, including:

• A shattered pelvis after his femur was forced into it

• A broken and dislocated elbow

• A broken hand

• A broken rib

• A major hernia from the force of impact

John was sedated and life-flighted to the University of Utah’s Level 1 Trauma Center, where surgeons performed multiple major operations, securing his injuries with plates and screws. By the grace of God, the surgeries were successful and John and is now in stable condition.

But his journey is just beginning. Next week, doctors hope to transfer him to a rehabilitation center, where he will face long-term physical therapy and recovery. The road ahead is daunting:

• Six months before doctors believe he may walk with a cane

• Up to two years before a full recovery is possible

Through it all, John has shown immense strength and courage, but he and his family cannot walk this path alone.
