John Odaba is my good friend. His life for almost 60 years has been with a severe disability. In 1987, John fell from a second floor balcony and suffered a spinal injury. Walking was a challenge but he persevered. His wife, Faustine has been by his side with love and dedication throughout this challenging journey. He is the father of 6 children. The cost of care has been an ongoing burden shared by the entire family. Things only got worse in 2018. John experienced another accident while in transit. Over the past 4 months, he is no longer able to walk or sit without support. Simple daily activities—sitting, standing, sleeping, or using the bathroom—have become painful challenges. The pain is sharp and constant. The only way forward is spinal surgery as soon as possible.
Here are the details of John’s medical condition. C3-4-5-6 Degenerative disc disease with spinal cord compression, Quadruparesis. The recommended surgery is: Posterior micro decompression and anterior multiple level discectomy and spinal fusion surgery, under neuro monitoring control.
The deficit is $13,000
