Hello! My name is John Malone and I'm reaching out for help. I'm from Michigan but have lived all over. I'm currently living in Louisville. I've been here since 1996. I started my career in drug and alcohol studies and since then I have been in construction. I remodeled U of L Hospital, Brown Cancer Center, Kosair Children's Hospital, the Gilda Radner Cancer Foundation, among others. I never thought I would be a patient. I was recently diagnosed with stage 3 carcinoma in my colon. Then my work went out of commission for a while. I worked for a treatment program called A Vision for You. I really enjoy helping people but have a hard time asking for it. I'm 52 and have an 18-year-old son who is a Marine. I want to live long enough to see him grow as a man but the cancer treatments and medications are taking their toll. I'm living on disability which recently got cut in half. I don't even have the money to cover the rent. I know that there are good people out there and today I need to be humble. Please help me. I can't afford groceries or basic necessities of life and I'm getting close to being homeless. Every penny counts.
