Help 37 yo Father of 3 Recovering From Stroke
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Carolina LoGrasso. My husband of 11 years, John, suffered a spontaneous hemorrhagic stroke on 14 Sep 2022. It is "spontaneous" because he has no medical reason to predispose him to a stroke. Hemorrhagic means that there was blood released from a broken blood vessel. John is only 37 years old. He was the sole breadwinner for our family of 5. We have three children, Keanu (8), Emerson (4), and Riley (who just turned 1). Our youngest has down syndrome and requires extra care.
For those who don't know, John is very caring and offers his help to those in need, family and friends. Family is very important to John. Before the stroke, he was such a patient and fun-loving father.
John worked as a painting contractor and ran the family business with his dad. For the next 5-6 months, John will likely be unable to work. When he's able to work again, he may not be able to perform the same as before. The doctors cannot give a recovery time as it varies widely from person to person.
In this brief time since he had the stroke, I have been researching all avenues for financial aid for stroke survivors. Any help provided by the government, such as disability, will be a battle to get and could take up to a year.
I am asking for help from anyone able. Any help you can give will allow us to pay our bills, provide John with the 24/7 assistance he needs, and take care of our family.
Our family has helped immensely but is unable to give the financial support needed until John returns to work. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide, and keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
