Hi, my name is Morgan Legg, and I am creating this GoFundMe for my father in law, John Legg Sr, the man so many of you know and love as Big Anthony or simply Legg. Our family is facing a reality we never imagined we would have to walk through, and we are holding onto every bit of hope we can find. As many of you know, John is diabetic, and one of the hardest parts of this disease is that it hides the warning signs of a heart attack. Because of this, he has survived multiple heart attacks without ever knowing they were happening. He continued living, working, and showing up for his family through pain he could not even feel, because that is the kind of man he is. Just a few weeks ago, our world changed. Doctors told us that 90% of his heart is clogged and only 25% is working, and this was discovered during a procedure he went in for that they could not even perform because his heart was in worse condition than anyone expected. Hearing that broke something inside all of us. No one is prepared to sit in a room and be told that someone they love is surviving on a quarter of a heartbeat. He now needs urgent heart surgery. The doctors are reviewing several types of procedures, each one serious and each one carrying its own risks, but every option gives him a chance. A chance at more time with his children. A chance at more time with his grandbabies who adore him. A chance at more time with the people who are not ready to lose him. If you know Legg, you know his heart. You know he is strong, stubborn in the way that keeps him going, and full of a presence that fills a room. You know he can make you laugh even in the hardest moments and that he would give you anything he had without question. Seeing someone like that hooked up to machines and fighting to stay with us is a pain no family can fully prepare for.
