Dear Friends,
On April 10, 2024, I was having a wonderful day. Went to work at a job I love, came home to my wife and two pups, and had a beautiful dinner. We watched our favorite TV shows, joked around, and laughed a lot. Then my life changed the next morning at 6:15 a.m., April 11, 2024. As I was getting out of bed, I fell to the floor and could not get up. My wife found me and immediately noticed I was having a stroke and called 911. Fire paramedics rushed me to two hospitals who were not equipped to manage this type of stroke. I was then sent by ambulance to a Level One Trauma medical center where they performed emergency surgery to remove a blood clot that came from my heart, later diagnosed as atrial fibrillation, which caused an ischemic stroke, paralyzing my left side. As one could only imagine, it was devastating. I spent four days in Neurosurgery ICU and then transferred to a rehabilitation hospital for three weeks. After I was discharged, I was sent to a skilled nursing facility for an additional three weeks and then discharged to home where I am currently bedridden and receiving in-home physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. We have exhausted our financial cushion and resources. I know this is a big ask and feel bad that I must ask, but I am in dire need of financial assistance as all the medical expenses have put us in the red. We need financial help with medicines, supplies, medical appointment transports and rent. Thank you for your time in reading my story. Anything you can give will be heartfelt appreciated. Many thanks for your love and support.
Sincerely,
John Griffin
