Many of you know my uncle John. He’s a familiar face around New Albany — often seen walking through town, sometimes with his oxygen tank and sometimes without it. John lives with COPD, but through pure determination and hard work, he has lost over 200 pounds and continues to fight every day to improve his health. His progress has been nothing short of inspiring.

Right now, John is facing a major hardship. The transmission in his car went out, leaving him without reliable transportation. Because he is on Social Security, covering the cost of repairs or a new vehicle is simply not possible. Without a car, he struggles to get to doctor appointments, the grocery store, and other essential needs. I’ve been doing everything I can to help, including putting my own money toward this, but between working full-time, attending nursing school, moving, and the holiday season, I can only do so much. Our family is not the type to ask for handouts, but at this point, John truly needs support.
