Help John Get Back on His Feet (Literally)

Donation protected
John Fritz - Dad to four, husband, rock of the family, friend to all, and veteran - suffered a motorcycle accident in May 2022 and needs help to get back on
his feet.

John was involved in a motorcycle accident in Williamson County while on a day ride after a stressful shift at work as a local emergency medical technician. Thankfully, his father-in-law was there and immediately turned around to render aid and call 911. John was taken to a hospital in Round Rock where he was stabilized and assessed by medical staff. John sustained bilateral tibia and fibula fractures, a broken wrist, friction burns to his abdomen, and a brain bleed, even though he was wearing full protective gear and helmet. He has gone through multiple surgeries, an emergency fasciotomy to his left leg, and skin grafts, spending two and half weeks in the hospital.

The funds raised will help with the unforeseen medical expenses and financial pressure of being out of work. The hospital is 2 hours away from home, so it has been a challenge for his wife to be there while also trying to manage the household, keep their “2 under 2” happy, and still be able to work. The doctors anticipate it being a few months before John is up on both legs and mobile, which means he will be home-bound and unable to work. His main priorities right now are staying healthy, recovering from surgery, starting physical therapy, and ensuring the well-being of his family.

John was in the Army for 8 years and retired as Staff Sergeant Fritz. He did 3 tours overseas where he sustained lasting back injuries, multiple TBIs, and PTSD. John has chosen to continue his career of service as an EMT with Fayette County EMS, a new occupation started during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has found joy and respite from stress through these motorcycle rides with family and friends, as suggested by his therapist.

John and Jessica have a beautiful family, including: A young man of 16 who just got his driver's license and wants to go into the military to follow in John’s footsteps, a daughter of 13 who is very artistic and a passionate animal lover, a son of 1.5 years who loves nothing more than riding on the tractor with his dad and watching The Lion King, and another baby of 6 months whose first words (we think) might just be Dada.

If you have had the pleasure to know John, you understand he would give the shirt off his back to help, even if it was his only one left. He helps others out of the kindness of his heart and never expects anything in return. We ask that you find it in your heart to help John and his family during this difficult time. If you cannot donate, please share this link with your friends and family. We think this Go Fund Me account will do a world of good in alleviating the financial burden caused by the hospital stay and time off of work.
