On Wednesday, my son John was robbed for his bike, and unfortunately his life was threatened during the incident. John had worked and saved money for several months to buy the bike that was stolen from him on 06/03/2026 by a local kid and a teenager. He was so proud to save and buy something he really wanted, and he had the bike for only two months. He took pride in ownership and cared for it deeply.

His dad and I felt pretty safe letting him ride in our small town of Salida. We had our concerns with him riding because of vehicles, but it never crossed our minds that he would be robbed by kids in our own community. Summer just started, and John was really looking forward to riding his new bike. We don’t like asking for help, but it took time for him to save. We were grateful to see the support from our community the day it happened, and I’m posting this today to see if we can get a little help to put towards a new bike for him.
