Hi, my name is James and I am fundraising for a dear friend of mine. John and Val own and operate Vibez.live, an online radio in South Africa. A not for profit radio show that relies solely on sponsorship and donations to operate.

They not only run daily shows, but every Saturday they have a show that is dedicated to their love of Trance music. Playing guest mixes and chatting with the community. They showcase artists and producers who are up-and-coming but not necessarily getting that initial break. The spotlight they put on the artists is second to none and helps lift talent in an extremely tough industry.

On a personal note, they are two of the nicest, warm-hearted people that I have had the pleasure of coming across in this industry. Something that is very rare and hard to find.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise funds for John to have another urgent hip operation. Having a combination of bone marrow cancer and osteomyelitis at the young age of 9 caused him to have a hip replacement, as the damage done by cancer made his bones brittle and shatter. After a hospital visit this month, The bearing in John's prosthetic hip was found to be failing. On investigation, two tumors (which we pray is not cancerous) were also found that need removal. And, while compensating for his failing hip, he has damaged the L5 region of his spine. Right now, the bearing in his hip can still be replaced, but if not soon, the cup and shaft will need to be replaced as well.

Unfortunately, there is not much in the way of government health care in South Africa and to be seen and operated on urgently requires private health care. I have set a target of £10,000 to cover the cost of the operation anything extra will help with the aftercare and physiotherapy.

John is now in constant pain and being the trooper he is, he is still determined to do his radio show as he doesn't want to let anyone down.
