Hi, my name is John Sadauki.

I am from Nigeria and currently pursuing my Master's degree at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Ever since I was young, I have dreamed of becoming a diplomat and working to support peacebuilding and address security challenges like those affecting my home country.

That dream brought me here.

I studied international relations as an undergraduate and worked in unpaid internships focused on human rights and immigration.

Then, last year, something incredible happened.

I was admitted to Johns Hopkins SAIS.

It felt impossible at first. The cost was far beyond what I could afford.

But the university believed in me.

I received a scholarship covering 100% of my first-year tuition and 80% of my second year.

For someone born and raised in Nigeria, this was a life-changing opportunity.

When I started the program, I had a plan to cover the remaining costs through work, savings, and careful budgeting.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned.

After arriving in Italy, I struggled to find work for several months.

Later, an accident limited my ability to work during a critical period.

Since then, I have applied for scholarships, searched for grants, and explored loan opportunities.

Despite my efforts, I still face a funding gap.

And now, after years of hard work, I risk being unable to complete the final year of my degree.

This degree means more to me than a diploma.

At SAIS, I have learned from world-class experts and met people working in diplomacy, development, and peacebuilding across the globe.

The program also helped me secure an internship with a peacebuilding organization.

These experiences have strengthened my commitment to building a career dedicated to peacebuilding, governance, and development in Africa.

I want to help create safer, more prosperous communities.

And I want other young people from backgrounds like mine to know that opportunities like this are possible.

Today, the only obstacle standing in my way is financial. I need to raise €25,000.

This will cover 1) my remaining tuition, 2) insurance, and 3) living expenses for the year.
