A few weeks ago, John was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. After months of weight loss, fatigue, and other symptoms, the diagnosis came at the VA hospital. He’s now preparing to begin immunotherapy and radiation to fight the disease.

Because of his condition, John is unable to work, and the financial impact has been significant. While some care is covered, there are many out-of-pocket costs — including treatments, travel, and basic living expenses — that are adding up quickly.
