Help John Fight for His Life- Support for the Earnest Family
Donation protected
John Earnest is a husband, father, and man of deep faith who is now fighting for his life. After years of heart problems, his body has reached a critical breaking point—he is on full life support, his heart too weak to beat on its own.
Before his health struggles, John proudly served as a firefighter for Park City, Utah. He was always the first to step up and help others—whether in an emergency or just lending a hand to a friend in need. Now, it’s our turn to help him.
His wife Julie and their four boys are clinging to every precious moment, hoping and praying for a miracle. Julie would never ask for financial help—but with John in the hospital and their oldest son just beginning his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Veracruz, Mexico, we wanted to do this for her. Our goal is to relieve some of the financial stress so their family can focus on what matters most—being with John.

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits on behalf of our beloved John, his wife Julie, and their four amazing sons—Michael, Mac, Mitch, and Mark.
Since 2017, John has faced numerous health challenges, including a weakened heart. His strength, faith, and love have carried him through, but over the past month, his condition has taken a heartbreaking turn.
John has been in and out of the hospital, and just a few days ago, he was placed on 100% life support—surviving only with the help of an ECMO machine, bypass surgery, and a relentless regimen of medications. His heart is too weak to function on its own, and doctors are unsure if it will ever be strong enough again.
Before these health struggles, John served as a firefighter in Park City—devoted to serving and protecting his community. He was always doing something to help others. Now, it’s our turn to help him.
Miraculously, John continues to fight. Against overwhelming odds, he recently showed a glimmer of hope—he was able to communicate briefly after the breathing tube was removed. That small moment meant the world to his family. He is still here. He is still fighting. And we are holding on to every bit of hope.
The road ahead is uncertain. The ECMO machine is keeping John alive, but it’s only a temporary solution. For him to be considered for a heart transplant, his other organs must remain strong. Right now, the focus is on keeping him stable and fighting long enough to have that chance.
Julie has been by his side every moment—balancing hospital visits, caring for their younger sons, and enduring the emotional roller coaster of watching the love of her life fight for every breath. Their oldest son just left to serve a mission in Veracruz, Mexico, adding another layer of emotion and sacrifice to this already overwhelming time.
Julie would never ask for help, but we wanted to create this GoFundMe to ease the financial burden. Your donations will help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance and support for their boys during this time of uncertainty.
We are praying for a miracle—for John, for Julie, and for their family. Please share this page, send your prayers, and consider donating. John is a man of incredible strength, deep faith, and unwavering love. Let’s rally around the Earnests with love and support.
Thank you for standing with us.
