My connection with Adirondack Saddle Tours goes back to my childhood, riding the trails every year during vacations, which blossomed into a role as a trail guide alongside John in the early 2000s. John is more than a boss; he's like family to me. I've stood by him through numerous health battles, witnessing firsthand his indomitable spirit. John embodies the resilience and heart of the Adirondack mountains, always bouncing back, no matter the challenge.

However, resilience alone can't pay the bills. The financial strain of medical expenses and maintaining the wellbeing of the horses has put a significant strain on John and the future of Adirondack Saddle Tours. Insurance alone costs $12,000 with a monthly feed bill of $3,000. It's heartbreaking to see someone who has given so much to others face such a tough battle.

Since 1984, John Evans has been the heart and soul behind Adirondack Saddle Tours , offering transformative experiences in the breathtaking Adirondack Wilderness. John's passion for the outdoors, combined with his commitment to inclusivity, has enabled veterans, individuals with disabilities, and families to explore the freedom of wilderness on horseback. However, today, John faces a challenge far more daunting than any trail: the fight to save his business and legacy amidst a mounting health crisis.

Surviving multiple brain injuries, a severe accident in 2015 that led to a miraculous surgery, and overcoming numerous health battles, including Parkinson's and potential dementia, John's spirit remains unbroken. Despite the pain and adversity, he has continued to focus on changing lives, offering free rides to individuals with disabilities, and working tirelessly to support Gold Star Families and veterans with serious TBI.
