Help John Brooks With Legal Help For A Wrongful Arrest

Hi, my name is Courtney and I am raising funds for my father John Brooks, as he was wrongfully arrested on the night of April 10, 2024.

John has been dealing with many medical issues for the past 20 years, but most recently has suffered a stroke within the last couple months, causing health changes. He has not been able to work due to his health issues for the past 4 months, and has already been dealing with loss of income.

On April 10, 2024 John and his wife, Terri, were traveling from their home in Charleston, SC to Kalamazoo, MI to visit with family and celebrate their grandson’s 4th birthday. On the night of April 10th, they stopped in Kentucky for the night, and got settled into their hotel. John then went about a half mile to a get dinner for them, and was stopped by a police officer. The police officer misunderstood John’s medical conditions for driving under the influence, and arrested John. John attempted to explain to the officer his medical conditions and that he does not drink or do any sort of drugs, but was met with no understanding, and had a blood test preformed on him, and placed into jail until the following afternoon. The blood test results will not be available until 2-3 months, and in the meantime John is in need of working with an attorney to take care of these wrongful charges.

Due to John’s medical conditions, it is very difficult for him to afford an attorney during this unexpected situation. If anyone has it in their hearts to donate anything to help, it would be so greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for taking your time!
