Here's the scoop: John Bell is my best friend, housemate/landlord, music cohort, and hetero life mate, and he's recently found himself faced with having to undergo a life-saving, as well as life-altering, surgery to amputate his foot. Needless to say, he will be out of commission for a while as recovery time for such a procedure is long, arduous, and expensive. Even though he has insurance, it's just not going to cover everything nor take care of monthly bills while he's laid up and unable to work. John is one of the good ones and has been there for his friends when they call. He's been an incredible friend to me and even saved me after my house burned down by renting me a place to live. Over the years, we've played a number of benefit shows together to help various people and causes, and now he needs some help. One of the things I've always loved about Olympia is how the community rallies around one of their own when they need a helping hand. I've often said it's a little city with a big heart. Well, if there was ever a time to live up to the FamOly claim, it would be now. I know it's the holidays and things are tight for a lot of people but he really needs an assist on this road to recovery. Every bit helps and is greatly appreciated.
