Help John Avoid Paralysis: Urgent Spine Surgery Fund
Donation protected
I'm reaching out to ask for support for myself, John J. Moschella. I am facing a very serious health crisis. After dealing with worsening symptoms for a while — including severe pain, loss of feeling in the left hand, and numbness and tingling in the legs and feet, I had an MRI that revealed a critical issue: several cervical vertebrae are crushing the spinal cord.
The doctors said surgery is urgently needed to prevent permanent damage. On May 8, 2025, I am scheduled to undergo a multilevel cervical corpectomy, which is a significant surgical procedure. A cervical corpectomy involves the removal of one or more vertebral bodies and the surrounding discs in the cervical spine (neck area) to relieve pressure on the spinal cord and nerves. This is typically done to treat conditions such as spinal cord compression, herniated discs, or degenerative disease. My doctor has advised an initial recovery period of approximately 8 weeks, during which I will be unable to work.
Because of the severity of the condition, the doctors have ordered me to immediately stop working and driving because any wrong movement could cause catastrophic injury. As you can imagine, this has created a lot of financial stress on top of the already overwhelming medical situation.
I'm setting up this fundraiser to help cover medical expenses, lost income during recovery, and the costs of daily living while I focus on healing.
Any amount you’re able to give would mean the world to me. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page would be a huge help.
Thank you so much for supporting me.
