I am raising funds on behalf of John Arum Azi, a recent University of Jos graduate with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
John lost his father when he was very young. For the past 15 years his mother has raised the family alone, and John has been the one caring for her and the household. Despite these hardships, he worked hard, earned his degree in Early Childhood Education, and was preparing to build a career working with young children. His resilience and achievements are truly inspiring.
On April 11, 2026, John was kidnapped by Islamic terrorists (Fulani bandits) while traveling on the Jos–Kaduna highway. He was held captive for 12 days, brutally beaten and tortured. He was released on April 23, 2026 after a large ransom was paid by his family and community.
John was admitted to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) on April 24 and discharged on April 29. He is currently staying at a family member’s house, where he feels safer while recovering from his physical injuries and trauma. His mother is now living alone and needs support (John was her main helper).
I am the organizer (based in the United States). All funds will come to my bank account, and I will personally transfer 100% of every donation directly to John and his family for:
- Ongoing medical care, medications, and physical therapy
- Trauma counseling and mental health support
- Basic living expenses while John heals
- Support for his mother
- Helping him restart his life and pursue his goal of working in Early Childhood Education
John recorded this video himself sharing parts of his story (watch below). He is deeply grateful for any support as he works to recover and rebuild.
This campaign is an immediate bridge to help John and his family while I establish the New Spirit New Heart Foundation to support more people facing similar crises in Nigeria.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go straight to John and his mother. I will post regular updates with transfer receipts and proof of use for full transparency.
Thank you for standing with John in his time of need.
