Help John and Wendy Click rebuild their home
Donation protected
Hello friends, family and community. My name is Ashley Villanueva, daughter of John and Wendy Click. This evening 3/5/22 at around 1pm; my parents lost everything from rolling fires outside of Hutchinson,Ks. They didn’t lose “just their home” but the home that we’ve all called our safety.
Their companions (2 dogs- Ana and Bella), their goat (Elliot), their vehicles, medical records, medications, identification, clothing, barn, tractors, photographs, and so very much more….everything that they’ve worked for is gone.
When the fire hit their property, my mother was stuck without a vehicle and my father was at work. Within minutes the whole property was engulfed. My mother didn’t know what to do so she went out to a blank part of the pasture and started to dig out a hole in the sand to create somewhere to breathe. She placed a call to my father to say her “goodbyes” whom was rushing to get to her. We found her on the east side of their 5 acres in the sand;
using her phones last known location. The visibility was bleak at this point. She described the sounds as “the devil roaring” I cannot imagine the trauma. Currently my mother is undergoing medical treatment in the ICU and my father is staying with me awaiting what’s to come. They’re both devastated and lost. My mother is completely unaware of the reality at this point; as she’s fighting for her health.
The family has never asked for assistance (we’re typically too hard headed) but this is far beyond our means to recover alone. We’re asking for any donation possible to assist in the rebuild of their lives.
