As some of you may know, John Callion has fought and won against Prostate Cancer
But unfortunately it has come back with a vengeance. It has metastasized, and by the grace of God, he has been fighting hard since the beginning of June. It has been full of ups and downs, other complications, in and out of the hospital… it has been a roller coaster to say the least. His wife Stephanie, the Godliest woman I know, has been by his side through it all of it; living in hospitals, diligently monitoring for changes in symptoms or pain levels, running on little to no sleep. In John’s journey currently, he is in the hospital after a weakened body caused a nasty fall, receiving radiation, with expectations of getting released early next week to an Acute Inpatient Facility to recover with physical therapy before chemotherapy. His mobility has significantly declined with this very abrupt change to his body. They were not expecting this. Not this quickly, anyway, especially with everything happening so fast since early June. When he is able to go home, their house is not equipped for these mobility challenges. They have many stairs in and out that would require ramps or a lift, and the current bathtub/shower is not conducive to these mobility challenges.
They do not know we are putting this fundraiser together. They are such good people that we cannot sit and do nothing. So we are asking for help for them. They both still have their jobs, but John is unable to work for as long as treatment takes, and Stephanie has been taking time off to care for him and PTO has run out. They still have a mortgage, utility bills, a daughter still at home, in addition to anything not covered by insurance, and now these changes to their home that is needed asap.
I have never met more kind, appreciative, helpful people. If you feel moved to donate and bless this family, they (and we) would appreciate it so much. And if you aren’t able to financially, they’d be just as appreciative of your prayers, and any helpful information or connections you may have to anyone with experience in bathrooms/ramps/home accessibility.
Thank you so much for your time.
