Hello, my name is Jason Pierce and I've set up this GoFundMe to help raise funds for my son, John Pierce, and his fiancée, my future daughter-in-law, Shannon McTague. The young couple got engaged earlier this year on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Not long after the engagement, after a medical scare, Shannon found out that she had a hole in her heart. After a myriad of doctor's appointments and consultations, it was determined that she would have to have corrective surgery on December 3rd, right smack in the middle of the holiday season. We are hopeful that they'll be able to correct the condition by entering between her ribs, but there is a very real possibility that open-heart surgery will be required.
Regardless of the nature of the surgery, as you can imagine, Shannon will be out of work for a substantial amount of time. As you can imagine, Shannon's parents, and we, will be providing as much assistance as we can, but John will also be out of work. While we all like to believe that the costs of major medical surgeries like this are covered, they never are. The fact is that our kids will likely be left with some substantial medical bills after this.
The purpose of this GoFundMe is to provide direct financial assistance to John and Shannon to help cover regular living expenses, utilities, and medical bills. 100% of the funds will be distributed directly to them for that purpose.
As the owner of Savoy Taproom and The Copper Crow in Albany, we've have always done all we can to go above and beyond to assist those in our community that were in need. From founding Feed Albany and feeding 1,000,000 people in the Capital Region, assising families recovering from a horrible fire, to deliveries Easter baskets to children around the city of Albany, we've always answered the call to help and now I'm hopeful that you might answer the call to help a couple of young adults that could use a helping hand this holiday season. Thank you!
