Fellow parade riders, silver saddle lovers, and friends. One of our own needs our help.
Mention the name John Carney and almost anyone who has silver saddles will know the name. The Carney name is world known for top quality silver saddle repairs, restorations, and creations. His work speaks for itself. But many do not know there is another person who works behind the scenes. Someone who works hard every day helping restore these wonderful creations. Her name is Margie. For years John and Margie have been restoring some of the most beautiful and highly collectable saddles and tack in the world. As a team they have been working together for over 15 years, restoring the things dreams are made of. But it's not just a working relationship, it's also a love affair for one another. Hang around with John and Margie for a day and you know they were made for each other, soulmates you might say.
So it's with heavy heart that I announce that Margie has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. While surgery has removed most of her cancer, more remains to be treated with chemo and other methods. While the long term prognosis remains to be seen, the short term looks good, albeit a hard road ahead. Margie is a strong woman and is ready to face the fight ahead.
Needless to say, with Margie sick and John taking care of her full time at home, the bills are starting to pile up as neither one of them can work. They need our help.
So how about it? Can you help out? Let's show John and Margie we appreciate everything they have done to preserve part of our Western Heritage. Let's give them some support now when they need it most. Please donate.
