On June 2, 2023 John and Kathy were in a head-on collision that has devastated their lives. John suffered a concussion as well as herniated and protruding disks in his neck and lower back. Kathy had to be cut from the car with the jaws of life and sustained a broken femur, fractured knee, and a shattered ankle. Unable to work John goes to physical therapy three times a week, cognitive therapy two times a week, and psychiatrist with hopes to get his life back on track. Kathy goes to physical therapy four times a week and can only get around with the use of a walker.
John filed for unemployment and was denied because of the must be able and available to work rule. He filed for Social Security Disability and was also denied due to not enough medical information. With help from free legal aid an appeal has been filed on John's behalf.
Now that John and Kathy have exhausted their savings they have received eviction notice from the court. Their landlord has said that if they can come up with the $2160 that is owed in unpaid rent that they could stay and would continue to work with them. Any extra money will go towards future rent cost and bills so they will at least have a foundation to stand on without that stress to worry about.
Please find it in your heart to donate to their cause and relieve some of the stress as they are trying to regain their lives. I know that John and Kathy would be forever grateful for any kindness that is given.
