Hello, my name is John and I have lymphoma. It has spread to numerous parts of my body and caused me to get very sick. The doctors decided the best way to fight it was with chemotherapy, and that made me very sick as well.
I have been working for Habitat for Humanity for the last 12 years, building homes as the supervisor for construction. After I got sick, I was no longer able to work. I lost weight and became weak. I'm down almost 50 pounds currently and fighting to keep my weight up. I'm slowly making my way to some sort of appetite to gain it back.
Since I can't work, I can no longer pay my bills or buy food. I have a 7-year-old daughter that I help provide for and right now cannot help. I was able to get a small portion of food assistance, but it's very little. I can't pay for my vehicle and have moved in with my 20-year-old son and his friend who help care for me. I'm 49 years old and appreciate them so much, but I need to take care of things on my own for myself and my daughter.
The amount of help available for cancer patients is disappointing. So if you can help me provide for myself and my family, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.
