I’ve seen and supported many GoFundMe pages over the years, but I never imagined I’d be creating one for my own family. Life has a way of changing things quickly.

My parents have always worked hard and done everything they could to make sure their three kids had what we needed. They’ve never been the type to ask for help—but right now, they truly need it.

In 2020, my dad, John, was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. This is a debilitating autoimmune disease that has made daily life increasingly difficult and required intense medical care — including regular infusions and numerous foot surgeries. He is in pain each day. He’s tried working but hasn’t been able to do so.

Then in February 2026, things took a serious turn. What initially seemed like pneumonia didn’t improve with antibiotics. After being hospitalized, he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis—scarring of the lung tissue, which makes it very difficult to breathe and demands oxygen. This is one of the linear progressions of his psoriatic arthritis.

Since then, he has been in and out of the hospital. He now requires oxygen 24/7 and struggles with even the simplest daily tasks. We are staying hopeful and praying for improvement so he can be comfortable for many years to come.

Alongside the emotional toll, the financial burden has become overwhelming. Over the past few years, my parents have accumulated significant medical bills and expenses related to health issues. With my dad unable to work and my mom doing everything she can, it’s become impossible to keep up.

This is incredibly hard to share because asking for help isn’t something my family is used to. My parents have always tried to be the ones helping others.

We are grateful for the support of friends, family, and our community during this difficult time. Every message, prayer, and act of kindness has helped us stay hopeful.
