Hello to Family and Friends of Karen Broom and John Reckard and JFK Alumni ~

I am starting this GoFundMe account on behalf of Karen's husband and her sons Kristofer and David.

As many of you are so shockingly aware, Karen passed away on Thanksgiving.

John and the boys are understandably devastated and numb, just trying to go through the process.

Karen and John had been married 17 years. And to make matters even more unbelievable, John's Father left this world on November 1 of this year. They laid him to rest on the 22nd. Just five days later, he lost his beloved wife Karen. Unimaginable grief and devastation in my opinion.

Karen was the single person who started the Commander Coffee Talk site. I know there is no understanding of the uncountable number of folks she has helped, supported, reconnected and loved on all of these years. Myself included. To be honest, I never had the opportunity to meet her in person, but felt very close to her, nonetheless.

John is an Army Vet who served our country for 12 years. And then he went on to serve the Bear Valley Community coffee from his shop for ten years.

And now it's time to hold her and care for her family. I know that we have the combined power and resources to help John and the boys in the uncharted journey that they have been forced in to.

I pray we can all find it in our hearts to give what we are called to give. I know it's a hard time of year to be giving, but is it really?? For it is in giving that we receive. And in my eyes, Karen paid it forward to all of us.

And please, please hold John, Kristofer and David close to your hearts and let them know that they are not alone. Pray that they can feel God's gracious and loving arms surrounding them in these days.
