Help John and Alice Cummins Rebuild their Home

Hi, my name is Ciara Butler. I am one of John and Alice Cummins grand-daughter's.

On Saturday the 16th of October, there was a devastating fire in my grandparents house in Carrick-on-Suir. This fire has caused severe damage internally and externally to the house that ran in my grandmothers family for 3 generations. All of the personal belongings of my family has been taken away from them. John sustained third degree burns to his legs and is currently awaiting surgical intervention for the treatment of these burns.

 

The family has been under a lot of physical and emotional distress due to rapid decline in both John and Alice's health. John was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease a couple of years ago and since then has relied on the support of Alice and all surrounding family members for support. Alice then became John's primary carer, with the assistance of her children and close family, despite Alice having her own health challenges . They all did so without hesitation or complaint.

They are currently in the process of seeking alternative accommodation and are therefore in immediate need of all the essentials to restart their lives again.

As a family, we are asking for financial assistance and support to enable them to purchase the basics, so that they can get themselves up and running again.

So many people throughout Carrick-on-Suir and further afield have been asking how they can help my family and it is highly appreciated.

We would be grateful for any financial or voluntary support to help them through this tough and unfamiliar time.
