Hi all, my name is Sarah and I’m reaching out to community to help support my dad John who is in need of emergency dental care. My dad is someone who cares deeply for his community and family — near and far — but hesitates to seek support for himself, and he’s very much in need of support.

At the end of April, he will be having a majority of his teeth removed before being fitted for dentures. As someone who was genetically predisposed to periodontal disease, and has spent a lifetime seeking solutions for his dental needs, this news is overwhelming for both the potential relief and cost. The initial procedure and dentures are estimated to cost $12,000 with insurance contributing only $2,500.

Despite working full time, this is an expense that feels insurmountable. Contributing to how difficult this situation is, my dad has been unable to secure stable housing for the last 10 years. We’ve been hopeful that we would have been able to find housing over the coming months, but the cost of this necessary procedure will make that goal less attainable.

A donation toward the cost of my dad’s dental procedure will support his immediate quality of life and help us continue the pursuit of safe, stable housing.
