My name is Emily and I’m putting this together for my best friend, Johanna—a loving single mom of two awesome kids who is ready to start a new chapter.

For the past four years, Johanna has been her mom’s primary caregiver. She’s managed doctor appointments, medications, hospital visits, ABC’s for care, and countless daily tasks—all while raising her two kids. She stepped into this role out of love for her family and has given everything she can. Johanna’s only vehicle—a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix—is failing fast. The transmission now overheats, slips, and can barely reach 35 mph. A mechanic’s visit is overall just out of the question; once the transmission dies, the car is literally scrap.

This couldn’t come at a worse time:

• Move date is set for September 26 (just days away).

• Her kids are scheduled to tour their new school next week, and she already needs rides to make it happen.

• Without a working car, she can’t move, commute, or keep her children safely connected to school and daily life.

• A working vehicle is essential to start working (“FINALLY! Woo!”). The job is, of course, crucial to this new chapter & the only way she will be able to afford to pay rent.

At this point, the most urgent need is funds for a reliable vehicle—everything else depends on it.
