Help Johan achieve his dream

Hi, my name is Maria Manse and I am doing this fundraiser for my son Johan. Johan is 31 years old, but that wasn't a sure thing 7 years ago. When he was only 24 he got diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). That is not what you want to hear when you are 24! But Johan is the strongest and the most positive person I know. Me and Johan's dad could not be prouder over all the things and adventures he sets his mind to and achieves even with this awful diagnose.

Over the years that has passed Johan has slowly lost his muscle mass especially in his arms and legs. He can still walk, but falls over sometimes and can not use his arms to stop the fall. Fortunately his speech is still great. He can feed himself if someone cooks and cuts the food. If he concentrates he can go up and down a flight of stairs.

Johan lives in a pretty remote but beautiful place in Dalarna, Sweden. He bought a forest property that he would like to make into an ecovillage where people can come and live in nature to recover from any difficult diseases or simply from the stresses of modern life. Focusing on health and well-being on many levels while also enjoying taking care of the homestead with building projects, gardening, farming, forestry, and more. Creating a cultural hub where he can host different events, retreats, and festivals to celebrate life. A place to reconnect with oneself and nature.

Because Johan never worked a paid job in Sweden, (he grew up in USA and moved to Sweden 2015), he didn't have a proper income for which the Swedish welfare system could base the economic assistance on. Therefor he only gets $500 a month from the government. A laughable amount.

For my 60s birthday I wish for no gifts, but for a donation to help Johan build his paradise. My biggest wish is of course for a cure...
