Help Joey to EVO 2025 in Las Vegas

My name is BlindWarriorSven and I am fundraising on behalf of Joey McCluskey. Joey was born with several medical complications that renders him unable to travel alone. This GoFundMe is to raise funds so Joey and a caregiver can go to EVO in Las Vegas Which will take place August 1-3 2025.

Around 6 years ago, after hearing about the success of other disabled players in the fighting game community, Joey decided to learn how to play fighting games at a competitive level with Street Fighter 5. Early on, he started entering beginner-level tournaments, winning a few of them. This inspired him to keep practicing and connecting with different communities around the world.

Joey faces many challenges in his day-to-day life, including the fact that in order to travel he needs to also pay for a caregiver to go with him and assist him at all times. Due to issues with his spine and breathing, he cannot walk for long distances, using a wheelchair for prolonged mobility and due to a deformity with his hands he cannot use the wheelchair unassisted, as well as other medical conditions.

EVO is the world's biggest tournament series for fighting games. Thousands of fighting game fans from all over the world are travelling to Las Vegas to compete, enjoy and celebrate this event.

As a professional gamer with a disability myself, I would love to see more people with disabilities entering events like EVO and enjoying being part of the fighting game community!
