My name is Ann Sisk, I am Joey Sisk’s wife. Together, we have three- year-old and eighteen-month-old beautiful little boys. On October 28th, 2023, just a day after our son Levi was born, Joey was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer. The timing of this diagnosis has been a huge struggle for our family. Unfortunately, surgery is not a viable treatment option because his blood vessels are tangled all around the tumor, making surgery impossible.

We have tried to aggressively attack the tumor using the chemotherapy with multiple chemicals but unfortunately, he isn't responding to the treatment and we were recently removed from clinical trials at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute due to liver function issues, and they will not even consider letting him back in. Luckily during one hospitalizations, he was able to receive a stent that prevented liver failure, but if with no intervention over time it will kill him.

Cancer treatment is not only physically and emotionally demanding, but it has also been financially overwhelming. The cost of chemotherapy, medications, scans, and other associated expenses adds up quickly. We have already spent over $ 3,000 on medications alone this year, and it's only May. We have incurred out-of-pocket expenses at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and we are planning to go to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, the second- best cancer treatment center in the country.

Joey's current employer has kept him as long as they possibly can, and has been nothing but GREAT, but soon he will be terminated. He has been the sole provider for our family, while I have been raising our children and taking care of him as well. Now we must pay for COBRA insurance, which is outrageously expensive. Not to mention, one medication alone costs $770.
