Help Joey Recover from FQ Toxicity

Donation protected
Hey everybody! Over the past year I’ve been experiencing symptoms of fluoroquinolone toxicity. A year ago, in March of 2021, I was prescribed an antibiotic called ciprofloxacin alongside a steroid called prednisone. This antibiotic belongs to a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. Fluoroquinolones have a "black box warning" issued by the FDA. It states they should only be prescribed when there is no alternative, or it's a life and death situation, which was not the case for me. Within a week of finishing the antibiotic I started experiencing symptoms that felt like my tendons were going to rip. After months of worsening symptoms, we finally stumbled upon the topic of fluoroquinolone toxicity online. Upon researching this, we also learned that fluoroquinolones are contraindicated with steroids. This means you shouldn't take them together. At the time they were prescribed to me, I was told it was safe and I would be fine.

It has been very hard to accept what happened to me, but all I can do is move forward and try to treat it. The most promising treatment that exists is done by a doctor in Los Angeles named Dr. Mark Ghalili. It’s not a guarantee but I have 2 kids to raise so I have to do everything I can to beat this thing and heal. I'm quite disabled at this point and can’t walk very well so I can’t work. I’ve been doing everything I can on my own. The costs of going to doctors for tests, supplements, and eating well is already a lot so we’re trying to raise money to go to LA for treatment with Dr. Ghalili. It’s not covered by insurance because it’s considered regenerative medicine and it costs way more money than I have. It’s time to ask for help from the community that I love and am a part of so that, if you have the means, you might donate to my cause.

Thank you and I love you all.
