Hello, everyone!
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been accepted into Leadership Tallahassee Class 43, a prestigious leadership program that brings together changemakers across sectors to grow, connect, and serve the city we call home.
As a proud first-generation Mexican American and longtime Tallahassee resident, this opportunity means the world to me. Over the last decade, I’ve poured my energy into community building and public service. From co-founding the Mexican American Student Association at FSU as an undergraduate student to now working in the Florida Legislature; helping reimagine public space through Knight Creative Communities Institute (KCCI) Tallahassee and co-founding the FSU Hispanic/Latin Alumni Network; from previously serving on the City’s Human Relations Council to currently serving on the Florida Bar’s Citizens Advisory Committee, every chapter of my journey has been about one thing: building and strengthening communities to be more inclusive, connected, and people-centered.
Leadership Tallahassee’s competitive process ensures a cohort reflects the full spectrum of our city and is the next step in deepening the work I do. It’s a space to grow as a leader, expand my network, and sharpen the tools I need to make an even greater impact.
I was honored to receive a partial scholarship toward the program’s tuition, but I’m still responsible for the remaining $2,500 which is a significant investment for someone in public service. That’s where I could really use your help.
If you believe in the work I do, the leadership I bring, or the future I’m working to build, I hope you’ll consider contributing to my campaign. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings me one step closer. And if you can’t give right now, I’d be just as grateful for a share or a kind word.
Thank you for believing in me and for helping me take this next bold step forward.
With gratitude,
Joey Arellano
