Hi, my name is Stacy and I am writing on behalf of my best friend, my cousin Joey and his wife Kacie. Kacie was diagnosed with covid in mid August and put up a good fight at home until about a week later when she had become hospitalized. Joey was diagnosed soon after and also ended up in the hospital. Kacie took a turn and went to ICU where she still remains on a ventilator. Joey landed in the ICU for about a week and was able to be released back home. Kacie remains in ICU. The goal is for Kacie to stabilize and possibly get a trach placed. She is on the vent, tube feed, fluids, and multiple steroids and IV antibiotics. Joey is now home recovering with the help of his parents. Kacie is the breadwinner for their family and has been unable to work for a month. Joey has a severe seizure disorder and is unable to work, the after affects of a round of brain cancer, chemo, radiation and several other tumors over the years. They just moved into a new apartment in Columbus where Kacie started a new career. Right now they need all the help to continue paying their rent and utilities. Anyone who knows Joe and Kacie knows how hard they've worked to get to where they are, and right now they need to focus on healing and not the stress of bills and rent.
