Just a few days ago, my mom’s close friend Joette suffered a sudden heart attack. She recently underwent surgery to have her first stent placed and will need to return soon for a second procedure. While she focuses on recovering and regaining her strength, she is unable to work at this time. Joette is a single mother of three sons and one of the most hardworking, dedicated, and selfless people you could ever meet. She has spent her life doing whatever it takes to provide for her family working full-time hours and even taking on side jobs to make ends meet. No matter how much she has on her plate, she’s always willing to lend a helping hand to others. She truly embodies what it means to be strong, compassionate, and giving. Now, it’s time for her community to give back to her. Between medical expenses, monthly bills, and lost income while she recovers, things have become very challenging. Earlier this year, Joette had to give up her rental home after her landlord significantly raised the rent, forcing her and her sons to move into an old camper. They’re currently living there with their three senior dogs, doing their best to stay positive despite difficult conditions. The camper needs heating repairs and doesn’t have running water, making this already tough time even harder as she works toward recovery. This fundraiser was created to help relieve some of that financial stress so Joette can focus on what truly matters healing and getting back on her feet.
