Help Joel survive winter

Joel is a 70 year old unhoused member of the New Paltz community, who is physically disabled and suffers from mobility issues as well as mental health conditions. Like last year, he has spent a large portion of this winter sleeping outside in temperatures that at times sank below 5 degrees Fahrenheit. While a long term housing situation is necessary, we are currently scrambling to raise money to keep Joel in a local hotel for as much of the winter as possible. We have been able to cover about a week and a half for him so far, but he’ll be back on the streets on Sunday, January 6th unless we raise more money. The goal listed is about the amount we’ll need to keep Joel in a hotel all winter, any excess funds will go to helping Joel get an apartment or other longer term housing situation.
