Hello, I’m Joel Saborio

On 2/18/2025 I had a procedure done on my back to treat a herniated disc, after this procedure I was able to return to work for 3 days only and after that since 2/22/25 I’ve been in and out of the hospitals. I got diagnosed with a fracture on one of my vertebras and a pinched nerve that was making me loose all the sensation on my left leg. On 3/6/25 I got admitted to UMC in El Paso TX and had my first emergency surgery on 3/8/25 which was not successful and had to get a second surgery on 3/10/25. Recovery will take up to 6 months, and my current employer is not willing to wait for me to be discharged from light duty & or wait the whole time I’ll have to be out due to my surgery.

Along with the emotional toll, the financial burden of medical expenses, time away from work, and ongoing care is adding immense stress.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward medical bills, rehabilitation, and providing my family with the support they need to navigate this difficult journey. If you’re unable to donate, we ask that you please keep Me (Joel) in your thoughts and prayers.

Hola, soy Joel Saborio. El 18/2/2025 me operaron la espalda para tratar una hernia discal. Después de la operación, pude volver al trabajo solo por 3 días y, desde el 22/2/25, he estado hospitalizado varias veces. Me diagnosticaron una fractura en una vértebra y un nervio pinzado que me estaba haciendo perder la sensibilidad en la pierna izquierda. El 6/3/25 ingresé en el UMC de El Paso, Texas, y el 8/3/25 me operaron de urgencia por primera vez, pero no tuvo éxito. Tuve que hacerme una segunda operación el 10/3/25. La recuperación tardará hasta 6 meses, y mi empleador actual no está dispuesto a esperar a que me den de alta de las tareas ligeras ni a esperar todo el tiempo que tendré que estar de baja debido a la cirugía.

Además del impacto emocional, la carga financiera de los gastos médicos, el tiempo fuera del trabajo y la atención médica continua me están añadiendo un estrés inmenso.

Cualquier contribución, por pequeña que sea, se destinará directamente a los gastos médicos, la rehabilitación y a brindarle a mi familia el apoyo que necesita para superar esta difícil etapa. Si no puede donar, le pedimos que tenga presente a Joel en sus pensamientos y oraciones.
