Joel is my brother in law, my sister’s dear husband, an only son, a beloved friend, a doting dog dad, an expecting father, and one of the most hard working, strong, kind, and resilient humans I have ever met.

Joel is married to my baby sister, Casey and they have been in each other’s lives for 17 years.

When Joel found out he had brain cancer, 7 years ago, it was devastating to everyone around him.

In the past month, we have received more bad news. Joel was immediately referred to the Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center in Durham, NC.

They are expecting their first baby girl in May and had to suddenly relocate temporarily to North Carolina.

Due to the circumstances, many people have asked to help. We are so thankful.

In Oct 2016, Joel went through a life-saving craniotomy procedure to remove a large tumor from his cerebellum. There was a very small piece of tumor left behind. Since then, he has taken maintenance-chemotherapy and undergone routine MRI scans to ensure that everything remained stable.

On Feb 15th, 2022 we received bad news. Joel’s scans were no longer stable. His second surgery was on April 21st 2022. Then, in Jan 2023, he received Cyber Knife radiation to the affected area. We were hopeful that this would bring about complete healing for him, but it has not.
