For years, Joel Aaron has been a beloved part of the local music community — sharing his talent, lifting others up, and bringing people together through music.
Some members of our community may remember that Joel's family organized a fundraiser several years ago when he first began this difficult journey with cancer. The support he received then helped him access treatment and continue fighting during an incredibly challenging time.
Unfortunately, ocular melanoma is relentless. As the disease has progressed to stage IV and metastasized to his liver, his medical needs and treatment plans have changed significantly. Recently, his doctors had to discontinue one treatment and begin a new one focused on improving his quality of life and extending his time. Sadly, this form of cancer is currently incurable. Yet, despite the immense challenges that come with this diagnosis, Joel continues to face each day with determination and grace.
While he does receive disability benefits, the reality is that the cost of ongoing medical care, travel, experimental treatments, medications, and everyday living expenses quickly adds up and continues to create challenges that disability income alone cannot cover.
This fundraiser has been created to help him navigate this new stage of his fight and relieve some of the financial pressure he is facing right now, so he can focus on treatment.
Funds raised will help cover:
• Medical bills and treatment costs
• Prescription medications
• Travel and related care expenses
• Basic living expenses while he is unable to work
If you know Joel, you know how much he has given to others through his music, friendship, and spirit. Now we have the opportunity to give something back.
Any donation — no matter the size — will make a difference.
If you’re unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others.
Thank you for supporting Joel during this incredibly difficult journey and for helping surround him with the love and compassion
