Friends, family, teammates, and lovers (of Edgely),
If you don’t know me but clicked on this, welcome — you’re one of my people now. If you do know me, thank you for being here.
I love ultimate, and I’m incredibly honored to have earned a spot on Team USA, representing the country at the World Junior Ultimate Championships in Logroño, Spain this July.
I picked up a frisbee my freshman year of high school, skeptical at first, but it didn’t take long. Ultimate has a way of breaking down barriers — age, gender, background, ego — and replacing them with trust, respect, and shared effort. One unexpected invitation turned into four years of growth, competition, and belonging.
And that community of belonging is Philadelphia ultimate. The people at Edgely welcomed me in, built me up, and made me feel at home. I’m so grateful to be part of this community — and even prouder to represent the people who brought me here.
As incredible as this sport is, the cost is real. Travel, training weekends, and the tournament itself are entirely on my family, totaling over $5,000.
Any contribution—big or small—means the world to me. Playing at the highest level of youth ultimate is both humbling and exhilarating, and I owe it all to those who have supported me along the way.
Thank you for your support.
Love,
Joel
